Rockin' Crawfish - 4724 Geary near 12th, SFCA

We have another 'crawfish in the bag' place, similar to Craw Station on 9th Ave. and other places. I made sure to find out where dem bugs came from, and dey from Texas. This is OK; as long as they weren't from California, I was happy. I will say they were mostly medium sized, and I had a problem getting that first couple of rings off the tail. When I squeezed the tail, it didn't help loosen the meat either, so there was work involved. But the meat was good, and even though they come in a bag, there's a plastic bowl to dump 'em in.
You have three choices of sauce: lemon-pepper, garlic butter or the two combined to make the 'rockin combo'. There are five levels of heat, from 'original' to 'volcanic'. They're sold at market price, which was $13.99/lb last Saturday.
Johnny Davis was hungry, so I let him order the Rockin' Rolls (7.99), a cousin of lumpia and egg rolls but stuffed with crab. These were tasty and they provide the sweet Thai-style dipping sauce. As if that weren't enough. he ordered some Seafood Gumbo (6.99 with shrimp and sausage and whatnot. A healthy serving and it was pretty good, but I still like my roux better.
I like this place, and both Johnny and I are anxious to try the competition down the street called Swamp.
